Otto Ramstad is a dance and video artist and a practitioner of Body-Mind Centering. With Olive Bieringa he co-directs The Body Cartography Project. They build dance and video works that investigate the bodies' relationship to the physical, architectural, climatic, technological and social landscapes in urban/wilderness and private/public contexts, in the US, Canada, Brazil, New Zealand, Japan, Europe and Russia. He has been featured in the work of D.D. Dorvillier, Shelton Mann, Karen Nelson, and Kitt Johnson from Denmark. He was an Archibald Bush Fellowship Artist 2006-2008, a DanceWeb scholar at ImPulsTanz 2005 and 2008 and a Rolex Protegé Nominee in 2008. He will create a work for the Lyon Opera Ballet June 2010.
